sonnet on motherly love

mother taught me lots of things, she said
many of them unprintable
like what is the main use for the head
and some of them quite despicable
like knowledge that is biblical
between a woman and a man
which can lead to exile, babies, or banns
and how many good reasons there are for killing
if you read the good book and are willing
but mostly she was peaceable and mild
and taught little that was wild
and even less things full of bile
mother was nearly a lady
only her wit was a little shady
